For those of you who don't know we got some very disturbing news last week to add to everything we've gone through the past five months. I received a phone call from the agency on Wendesday with an update. It appears we've been scammed!! Renay has done nothing but lie for months now and has robbed our dreams and several others of becoming parents. It appears it may go back as far as 2002. We are almost positive there are more that just aren't aware that it was never true. Renay is not and has not been pregnant this entire time. We are pretty sure she has NEVER been pregnant and that she has NO other children. Everything was a lie!! The first baby, the almost miscarrying that baby, the second baby, the cancer, and her changing her mind. She knew she had to do something because she couldn't produce any babies!! I'm furious and we are heartbroken once again that she has done this. We are upset that our agency didn't protect us from her. That's what an agency is for! They never once verified her pregnancy or any of her medical records as they told us they did.
There have been different variations of her story. Some couples were told it was a single pregnancy and some were told twins only to be told later that one passed away in the womb. I thank God she at least spared us of that misery. I have been exchanging emails with another lady whom Renay betrayed. Our stories are almost identical with minor changes here and there. They were told twins and are as prepared as we are. How can someone prey on people who can't have children and literally torture them for months? It's just extremely hard to comprehend! She only got $250 for maternity clothes but she stole our dreams, hopes, and tormented us emotionally! I feel as if she has even moved into our home since we have a completed nursery that constantly reminds me of what she done to our family!
BTW: If the two babies that we've loved in our hearts would have actually existed they would have been a month old today!

I am so sorry that this has happened to you. I pray that you will one day soon have the baby that you so deserve in your arms. This woman should be punished for breaking the hearts of so many hopeful parents.
Oh, no! This is terrible! I can't believe your agency did not verify whether or not there was a pregnant woman! Argh!!!

My heart aches for you. I am so sorry that you have gone through all of this, and continue to go through. Women like this woman should be ashamed of what they do--to prey on the lives of loving people is heartless. I know that one day soon your lives will be blessed with a child, and I am sure that you will make amazing parents.
I found this link on a web forum, and was heartbroken for you when that awful woman chnaged her mind. HOwever, now, hearing she has preyed on you and others, I am angry and sad for you.
I really hope that the authorities can catch her and she can pay for her crimes.
I also hope that you will be able to find some peace and comfort. I hope, too, that someday you will realize your dream of having children.

Wow, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that you can get the authorities involved so that this woman will not harm other hopeful parents. I also hope that the adoption agency realizes that you have potential for a lawsuit and that they need to seriously revamp their quality control system. How dare they expose you to this when you have paid them money! How very sad.
GLouise suggested I check out your blog. We were involved in a scam too except she really was pregnant she just had no intention of relinquishing. She has scammed people through 3 pregnancy (we were her fourth) and the police got a tip off. I testified in a grand jury trial against her and she was indicted! We backed out early and only lost 10,000, but others had it much worse.
I am so very very sorry that this awful spiteful and just plain horrible woman did this to you and your husband.
I just want to cry for you.
That is BEYOND horrible! I hope you will use a different agency and that she is prosecuted for this...as you said, it's really the emotional damage!
