Looks like we are stuck........

working with the same agency. We got the response that no fees were going to be refunded but that they would uphold their orginal contract and rematch us with those fees we've already paid. We could file suet against them but it would drag things on for months with no end in sight. We need to move on from this and not risk losing anymore money. Trust is going to be an issue and things will just have to be done differently. Hopefully things will progress fast and we can have our family so that we can move forward with our lives. It seems this entire process has overcome us and become who we are. That is not what we wanted to happen!

As for Renay we are doing our part to try and make sure no one else is scarred by her. We sent in our statement along with a copy of the evidence we have. They are thinking that maybe they can file federal charges against her!

We were where you are last year. We took a 3 month break and went back to the same agency since we had paid them all the application fees (about 8000) and knew we would have to pay another agency. It is now a year later and we have found that we cannot get past it. We have so much anger towards our agency and don't feel that we are getting good value for our money. We wish that we had sucked it up and switched last year. Think seriously about what you do. Especially about how much you trust them. Good luck, my heart goes out to you.

I know I already commented, but I wanted to let you know that federal charges were filed about the birthmother who scammed us. I (& a whole lot of others) testified in a grand jury trial a few months ago. She was indicted and signed a 6 page statement of guilt. We don't know if she will go to trial. If she does I will have to testify and relive the whole *glorious* experience again.

OH, one thing the police told me was to check out any prospective birth mothers and just google her name and see if she comes up listed as a scammer.
